Throughout the veil we can locate possible references to the patronage of Bishop Acosta, to the year in which the veil was made (1557) and quotations taken from the Vulgate Bible related to the sacrifice of Christ and the hope of the Resurrection. Many of these psalms and texts were recited during Holy Week.
